What is the  Roof Replacement process in Charlotte NC

Replacing a residential roof is a labor-intensive project and, depending on the type of roof, could take anywhere from a one day to a few more, depending on the size and complexity. The time involved is substantially affected by the weather, as well. Wind, rain or even just the threat of one of these will slow the process considerably. However if you are looking for a new roof and want your Insurance Company to pay for it here is a detailed step by step explanation of what you need to do.

Step 1
Make an appointment with Charlotte Pro Roofing for a free roof inspection. (You should not pay for an inspection, at Charlotte Pro Roofing we offer free Roof Inspections)

Step 2
When we arrive to the appointment we take a camera up on the roof to take pictures of what we find.

Step 3
Sometimes we find Hail Damage, which is small little pings in the roof shingles. Hail can also chip away the surface of the shingles and wear them down.

Step 4
We also may find a Wind Damage which can be anything from missing shingles, gaps in shingles with upturned edges that have come detached from the roof.

Step 5
We will be able to tell you if your Roof is damaged and should  be replaced. However you will need you homeowners insurance approval also. If we do find damage you will need to call your homeowners insurance company and file a claim for the roof.

Step 6
Your homeowners insurance company will then ask you several questions and schedule an adjuster to come out and inspect the Roof. Many times, the adjusters won't even get up on the roof, that's why at Charlotte Pro Roofing we prepare a detailed picture report for them with the pictures of damage taken by us earlier.

Step 7
You may have to argue your case using photo evidence. If so, just be persistent with your homeowners insurance company. Remember, this is why you have insurance in the first place - to replace damages to your home.

Is it Possible to Get a Roof Installed in the Winter in Charlotte NC

One of the very commonly asked questions we hear is: "Is it possible to get a roof installed in the winter?" The answer is: Yes!

Most Common Causes of Roof Leaks In Charlotte NC

Here in North Carolina we don't get many snowstorms, so snow is obviously not a common cause of a Leaky Roof in Charlotte, however, we do get a lot of hail storms and rain storms in the spring and a lot of strong winds that can do a lot of damage to the roof and cause it to leak. Here I would like to share with you some of the common causes of a leaky roof.

* We all know it can get pretty hot in Charlotte.  The sun's rays can damage roofs by melting the tar from shingles leading to gaps that allow water to get through.

* The shingles are the single most important barrier for your roof. If you see shingles on the ground, such as after a particularly strong storm has passed through, it is a good indicator that there's more damage that needs attention. At Charlotte Pro Roofing we offer free estimates so you can have a professional take a closer inspection of your roof to identify if there are any damaged shingles on top of your home.

* Gutter issues could also be a cause of the leaky roof. When your gutters get clogged with leaves and dirt, it causes extra stress on the roof. Clogged gutters can cause water backups that overflow and can soak through your shingles and through the ceiling below. Though they are a bigger investment, clog-free gutters are a surefire way to avoid clogs and prevent roof leaks due to gutter problems.

A leaky roof is nothing to shrug off, it can turn into a real (and really expensive) problem very quickly because the roof is one of the most expensive repairs on your home.

A. Roof problems are discovered after leaking or other serious damage occurs. Roof inspections can uncover cracked, warped or missing shingles; lose seams and deteriorated flashings; excessive surface granules accumulating in the gutters or downspouts; and other visible signs of roof problems. Inside the house look for cracked paint, or peeled wallpaper as signs of Roof Damage.

A. Not necessarily. Leaks can result from flashings that have come lose or a section of the roof being damaged. A. Most work should not be done yourself. Professional roofing contractors are trained to safely and efficiently repair or replace the roofs. You can damage your roof by using improper roofing techniques and severely injure yourself by falling off or through the roof.

A.Actual roof's lifespan is determined by a number of factors, including local climatic and environmental conditions, proper building and roof system design, material quality and suitability proper application and adequate roof maintenance.
You can also get a warranty on your roof by a roofing contractor or product manufacturer. Take a close look at those warranties to see what responsibilities and financial obligations manufacturers will assume if their product fails to reach their expected lives.

5.What will a new Roof cost ?

The price for a new roof is depending on such things as the materials you prefer on your roof, the contractor you decide to go with, the location of your house, and time of the year.  Keep in mind that price is only one factor, and it must be balanced with the quality of the materials and workmanship.
